Visiting a new country can be daunting, especially when it comes to getting around. However Glasgow is much less complex than other major cities when it comes to getting around. We've created a sort-of-guide to help you when you get here. One more thing ticked off the list! From Airport transfer information, to visiting places further afield such as Loch Lomond, to local travel information - we've covered the essentials for your visit.
Glasgow Airport to City Centre
Most of our guests fly into Glasgow Airport, and as a lot of our properties are located in the City Centre and the West End of Glasgow. There are two options when it comes to getting from the airport into the city centre.
There is a direct link bus from the airport to the city. This is the Glasgow Airport Express 500 bus which takes you right into the centre of the city within 15 minutes. These buses run every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day, and can be found

🚕 Taxis
There is a taxi rank located just out the front of the airport. There are plenty of them, and you can't miss them however you can ask a member of the airport staff to help direct you. Uber is also popular in Glasgow and amongst our guests.
Getting Around Glasgow

There are taxi stations located outside Glasgow Central Station and Queen Street Station should you need them. These tend to be a bit more expensive, but are great if you have luggage to bring along with you. You can also use Uber to get around the city.
🚝 Subway 'Clockwork Orange'
Glasgow’s Subway, nicknamed the “Clockwork Orange”, is a quick and simple way to travel between the City Centre and the West End. With just 15 stations, it’s easy to use - popular stops include Buchanan Street for shopping and Hillhead for the University and Byres Road. Trains run every few minutes, and a full loop takes only 24 minutes, making it one of the fastest and most affordable ways to explore the city. You can find ticket prices and more information here.
💡Top Tip: An all day adult ticket is £4.45 with unlimited travel, and £2.20 for a child ticket. Perfect for exploring Glasgow!
Getting Out of the City
🚌 Buchanan Bus Station
Buchanan Bus Station is the central bus hub in Glasgow, and has fantastic connections to other parts of Scotland including the Highlands and Loch Lomond, as well as the rest of the UK. You can find more information on the official website.
🚝 Glasgow Queen Street Station
If you are heading to Edinburgh, Glasgow Queen Street is likely the station you will be travelling from. You can get a train from here directly to Edinburgh which takes around 50 minutes. For more information on destinations and pricing, you can visit Scotrail.
